The Ciudad de El Ejido Mountain Bike Marathon takes place on Sunday 10 April and we're running a bike race weekend around it.

It's an epic race in Almería province that takes in the mighty Sierra de Gádor. So expect a big climb followed by a long, tricky descent. Trophies are on offer in each category and all participants receive a commemorative crate of vegetables and free beer.

It's a great chance to kick off your racing season, or to try bike racing for the first time in a friendly environment.
