We run a handful of bike race trips each year. These combine a challenging mountain bike race (usually marathon distance, so about 70 to 80 km) with a tip top bike holiday. Race dates tend to be announced at quite short notice, so please do contact us if you're interested and we'll keep you up to date.

El Ejido Mountain Bike Marathon, Spring 2011

An annual Spring fixture is the Ciudad de El Ejido Mountain Bike Marathon. This is a smallish, welcoming but epic race in Almería province, in the of Sierra de Gádor. MBR's Andy Waterman joined the team for the 2009 trip. You can read all about it in this article, published in February 2010's MBR magazine.  Trophies are on offer in each category and all participants receive a commemorative crate of vegetables and free beer. The course features a huge climb followed by a very technical descent. As soon as the 2011 race date is confirmed (likely to be early April), we'll set the date for the trip. It will include four nights' accommodation and two days' guided mountain biking at the Pure Mountains farmhouse, as well as the race.
