Food & Drink
"Day one drew to a close with good food, good conversation and some very good Spanish wine." - Mountain Bike Rider
At Pure Mountains, all meals eaten at the farmhouse and all drinks at the farmhouse are included in the price of your holiday. (Yes, that does mean free beer and wine.) Dinners eaten out and drinks out are not included in the price, but local bars and restaurants are very reasonably priced.
Breakfast is served in the farmhouse kitchen. You can feast on porridge, toast, cereal, boiled eggs, freshly-squeezed orange juice, fruit, yoghurt, tea and coffee.
At lunchtime the Land Rover driver sets up a picnic table with bread, delicious local cheeses, ham, chorizo, pasta salad, hummus, fruit, olives, nuts, buns, biscuits, cold drinks and tea and coffee. Folding chairs provided of course! We also manage to fit in a tea/coffee break during the day's riding.
"The back-up Land Rover appeared, chairs were set up next to a stream, drinks handed round, banana cake scoffed and, suddenly, tired thighs were a distant memory as we basked in the mid-morning sun in the wild, empty landscape." - The Guardian
When you get back to the house you can choose between tea and freshly-baked cake or a refreshing cold beer (or both).
When we eat in our cook prepares hearty and delicious dinners from fresh, local ingredients. Dinner is either outside on the terrace or in the farmhouse kitchen. On other evenings you eat out at local restaurants. Special dietary requirements are willingly catered for. For details of the number of dinners eaten in and out, please see the schedule at the foot of the Holidays, Dates & Prices page.
