"...rooms that open on to a courtyard, complete with tinkling fountain and two happy, lolloping dogs. It ticked all my boxes - big beds, airy rooms, tasteful decor, eco-friendly (solar-powered, off-grid, water supplied by natural spring) - with the added bonus of a glorious, uninterrupted view across the valleys of the Alpujarras." - The Guardian
Accommodation during your holiday is in Pure Mountains' beautiful cortijo (farmhouse), where the emphais is on simple luxury. The cortijo sits in its own grounds, within the environmentally-protected Parque Natural de Sierra Nevada, at an altitude of 1,700 metres. From the house there are panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada (highest peak Mulhacén 3,482m), the Mediterranean and the Rif Mountains of Morocco.
The cortijo is registered with the regional tourist board as a casa rural (country lodge), guaranteeing high standards of comfort and safety.
The spacious, light-filled guest rooms open onto a cloistered Moorish patio with a central fountain. Each room has its own bathroom. You can request twin (90cm/3 feet wide) or double beds (180cm/6 feet wide). The beds are firm and very comfortable, with duvets and cotton sheets. Prices are based on two people sharing a room. For more details see General and Booking Information. The rooms are cleaned daily.
Guests eat in the open-plan sitting / dining room, or on the terrace in warmer months, and relax in the central patio, in the gardens or in the sitting room. For the cooler evenings there is a powerful wood-burning stove.
The abundant Andalusian sunshine and efficient solar panels ensure that we have a plentiful supply of electricity and more than enough hot water for showering dusty mountain bikers.
We also have a generator for power backup and a boiler for extra hot water and central heating in the winter, in addition to the wood-burning stove. Water comes from our own spring.
For guests bringing their own laptops or other devices, we offer free Wi-Fi access.
