Pure Mountains Kit List

Of course you know what you usually take on holiday but we would just remind you to check you haven't forgotten:

  • If bringing your own bike, spare tubes, spare brake pads, lubricant and, perhaps, a spare tyre. See Bikes page for more info.
  • If hiring a Pure Mountains bike, you may want to bring your own saddle and pedals (hire bikes have flat pedals).
  • Cycling shoes or trainers
  • Helmet. Buff/scarf. Skull cap in winter.
  • Long cycling trousers or waterproof trousers if you have them (except June to September)
  • Long and short fingered cycling gloves. Warm gloves (September to May)
  • Day pack (can be carried in the Land Rover)
  • Hydration system/water bottle
  • Windproof and waterproof
  • Cycling shorts/tights
  • Chamois cream, if you have a tender behind
  • Camera
  • Mobile phone charger and adapter
  • Laptop / other device plus lead and adapter if you need computer access during trip. Free WiFi is available at the farmhouse.
  • Sunglasses
  • Plenty of high factor sun cream and lip salve (the sun is very strong at altitude)
  • European Health Insurance Card (this is absolutely necessary) and your holiday insurance documents
  • Small first aid kit (we carry a complete first aid kit).
  • Fleece
  • Swimming costume/trunks and pool towel (May to September). We sometimes finish the day at the local pool/bar.
  • Slippers.
  • If you are a marmite, tea or golden syrup fan, it would be great if you could find a space in your luggage for any of these popular but difficult-to-find-in- Spain items!

You can wash your clothes in our washing machine while you are here. We, of course, provide towels and soap.

Hairdryers, straighteners, travel kettles, travel irons and whatnot use huge amounts of electricity in the process of creating heat. A solar power system can't support them, so please leave them at home!
