PURE MOUNTAINS HIGH, The Roof of Spain

Sierra Nevada means snowy mountain range. Only in the height of summer does the snow recede far enough to reveal an incredible lunar wilderness populated by wild mountain goats, delicate flora and a few lucky mountain bikers. July is a fantastic month for mountain biking in the Sierra Nevada with long, warm days and beautiful evenings to sit outside and watch for shooting stars in the summer skies.

On this mountain bike adventure we climb into the high peaks above Granada, crossing the famed Veleta pass (3224 metres), tracing the remains of what was Europe's highest road until it fell into disrepair and became a mountain bikers' paradise. This is truly the roof of Spain. Then we descend on fantastic trails to Trevelez, the highest village in Spain and from there make our way to the Pure Mountains farmhouse for the rest of the holiday.

We can run this trip during July, August and early Septemeber for groups of four or more. Please contact us to discuss your group's requirements.

The trip includes all the elements that make up a Pure Mountains holiday. In addition, we spend the first night in a comfortable hotel with stunning views, just above Granada.
