Scheduled Weeks and Long Weekends
From January to November Pure Mountains runs scheduled mountain biking weeks and long weekends (a link to the schedule is at the foot of this page). The idea is to provide you with a ready-made group of cyclists to ride and have fun with at a competitive price!
If you are organising your own group of 4 or more we can provide weeks or weekends outside the schedule to suit you at the same rates. If you would like exclusive occupation of Pure Mountains, see Purely Yours.
Holiday prices include everything mentioned on our Welcome page including qualified guiding, full Land Rover support, beautiful en-suite accommodation and excellent food and drink. Also included are airport transfers, but not flights.
Easy Going Holidays
Active, but not too active, holidays throughout the year for people who want to relax as much as to ride a bike.
Winter Long Weekends
In January, February and early March we are running Winter Long Weekends, offering you the chance to get away from dreary northern climes for an exhilarating weekend of mountain biking. At the end of each day's cycling you can relax in front of a roaring fire and enjoy plenty of good food and wine and the cosy accommodation of the welcoming Hotel los Bérchules.
July & August Specials
July and August are gorgeous months in the high mountains and not as hot as you might think.
Pure Family Holidays are week-long holidays for families with teenage children looking for an active, adventurous and fulfilling family mountain bike holiday in Spain.
In July we are offering a Pure Mountains High holiday giving you the rare opportunity to mountain bike over the roof of Spain.
Airport Transfers and Flights
Airport transfers are included in the price. For 2008 we are using Almería airport for most of our holidays as it offers a good choice of flights and a slightly shorter (and less winding) transfer than Granada.
On the day of arrival, the free airport transfer leaves Almería airport in the afternoon/evening, in order to allow you a choice of incoming flights. On the day of departure, the airport transfer gets to Almería airport in the morning, to allow you the greatest choice of return flights. If you are a group of four or more people, we can arrange a special, free transfer to suit your group's flights.
Currently, as shown on the Schedule, these flights operate between the UK and Almería, depending on time of year : Monarch from Birmingham, Luton and Manchester; Easyjet from Stansted and Gatwick; Jet2 from Leeds/Bradford and Newcastle; Ryanair from Stansted and Dublin and Air Berlin from Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich.
Flights are not included in the price. You book these yourself, allowing you to find the best deal. We are, of course, happy to help with flight booking if you would like us to.
If you do not need the airport transfers, we offer you a £30/€42 'no transfers' discount per person from the cost of your holiday.
Getting to Pure Mountains by Train
As part of our commitment to responsible tourism, we are keen to encourage our guests to travel by train and public transport.
It's surprisingly easy and a great holiday adventure in itself to travel from the UK to Spain by train. Take an afternoon Eurostar from London to Paris in just 2 hours 20 minutes, then the excellent overnight trainhotel from Paris to Madrid, with onward train connections to either Almería or Granada. The trainhotel has cosy bedrooms, a restaurant and a café-bar. All the info you need is at the excellent website www.seat61.com.
If you arrive at Almería station, you can join our airport transfer (subject to timings). Otherwise, from Almería or Granada you can get to Bérchules by bus, taxi (we can help to book this for you), or hire car. If you don't take our airport transfers you qualify for the £30/€42 'no transfers' discount.

Getting to Pure Mountains by Car
We can provide you with detailed driving instructions to our local village if you are coming by car. You might want to hire a car if you are coming from elsewhere in Spain or if you are flying into Málaga or Granada airport (both within driving distance of Pure Mountains). It is easy and economical to hire a car in Andalucía. We recommend hiring a small van eg a Citroen Berlingo or Peugeot Partner and booking with AurigaCrown Car Hire.
As you will not need our airport transfers, you will qualify for the £30/€42 'no transfers' discount.
