Why an Organised Mountain Bike Holiday & Why Pure Mountains in Particular?

Why an Organised MTB Holiday?
Whilst ambling around doing your own thing gives you a glorious sense of freedom, these are the reasons our guests choose an organised mountain biking holiday:
- Peace of mind. Organising the minutiae of a bike holiday can be good fun but sometimes it's nice to leave that headache to someone else. We make sure you won't be let down by any element of your precious holiday.
- Routes. We've spent years finding the best ones. We know what time of year to ride them and, crucially, in which direction (so you don't spend hours walking up singletrack you could be flying down). We tailor the routes to the group. This means you can relax and enjoy the riding without having to worry about navigating.
- Vehicle support. For gaining height at the beginning or end of the day, reassuring if you're flagging and on hand with refreshments and clobber.
- Bikes. You can hire one of ours.
- Bike workshop. Vital in remote locations.
- Transport. No need to worry about getting out of the airport as we provide airport transfers.
- Safety. Mountain biking takes you into some remote spots, particularly in the Sierra Nevada. You don't want to get lost out there with no back-up.
- Food. It can be hard to get fed off the beaten track, where shops and restaurants always seem to be closed. We take care of all of that, providing you with tasty, nutritious food, just when you need it.
Why Pure Mountains In Particular?
- Our luxurious cortijo (farmhouse) is in the heart of the highly protected Sierra Nevada Natural Park, an area recognised by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve.
- This region of Spain is still wild, not a manufactured bikers' playground. There are no ski lifts and no coach parties.
- The cortijo has been built to stringent environmental rules and aesthetic considerations, resulting in a unique place to stay in a wilderness location.
- The farmhouse has been inspected and granted 'casa rural' status by AndalucĂa's extremely demanding Ministry of Tourism. Registration number CR/GR/00179.
- The emphasis is on quality in everything we provide. We don't think that being on a mountain biking holiday means that you want to slum it!
- Our holidays are run by people who know the region, speak the language and have a relationship with the land and the people of the area.
- Our holiday prices include all your meals and wine and beer whilst at the cortijo (see Food & Drink).
- We take your enjoyment seriously. Our guides are qualified in leading bike groups and in mountain first aid. You can have confidence that we will keep you safe so that you can have a carefree biking holiday.
- Our mountain bike holidays are legally registered with AndalucĂa's Ministry of Tourism, Active Tourism division. Registration number AT/GR/00100. This assures you that we have all the right qualifications and insurance policies in place.
- We have a fully equipped bike workshop and will happily help you to keep your bike in good working order during your stay.
- We are members of responsibletravel.com, an organisation which offers travellers authentic and responsible holidays. All members have to meet exacting criteria regarding the sustainability and responsibility of the holidays they provide.
