Costa Blanca Bike Race Trip

Costa Blanca Bike Race Package, Tuesday 29 January to Monday 4 February 2019

"In the superb organisation and attention to detail, support (both technical and emotional) and wonderful food;  your package surpassed all our expectations." -- Fred MacSorley, 2014

"It took away all the hassle and work of finding and organising good accommodation and of catering for ourselves, for which we had little energy left after racing. But more than that, the team went out of their way to look after us and make sure that all our racing needs were taken care of and they were great company . The standard of food and accommodation was outstanding." -- Liz Gilmour, 2015

Costa Blanca Bike Race is a four day stage race, based in Alicante province, on Spain's Costa Blanca, where jagged limestone mountains overlook the Mediterranean sea. The terrain is wonderful, including endless singletrack, and the sun usually shines. For more information, photos and videos, see the CBBR website and Facebook page. Here's the 2019 official promo video.

It's a pairs race and attracts an international field, keen to race in winter sunshine. The stages are shorter than in some stage races: there are three stages of approximartely 45km, with about 1700m of climbing, plus a short but very sharp time trial stage. So, it's a great race for stage race newbies, as well as for expereinced stage racers looking for a very intense chellenge!

Dates & Price

The trip runs from Tuesday 29 January to Monday 4 February 2019 (six nights).

The price of the package is £650 GBP / €730 Euros per person. This includes six nights accommodation, six dinners and six breakfasts (see details below).

The package does not include the race registration fee, which is currently €245 per peson. Race registration is now open.

Flights and transfers are not included. We recommend flying to Alicante (or Valencia as a second choice) and renting a vehicle to get to the accommodation and to and from each day's stage.

Accommodation and Food

No need to worry about organising hotels, as we provide six nights' accommodation in a charming, spacious villa.

You will arrive two days' before the race starts, which ensures plenty of time for stress-free arrival, bike assembly, an acclimatisation ride, race registration and rest. Then you stay each night of the race and depart the day after the race finishes.

We think it more conducive to relaxation and peak performance not to stay in a cramped, busy hotel, but at peaceful, self-catering house, where our party are the only guests. There will be plenty of space for parking, bike servicing and storage. We provide a work stand and tools for you to use and our mechanic will be on hand if you have any bike servicing questions.

Perhaps most importantly, we'll be providing breakfast each morning and a hearty, home-cooked, racers' dinner early each evening, with beer and wine. The Spanish late-hours, tapas culture is wonderful on a beach holiday or a city break, but not what you need when you've got a stage race the next day! Dietary requirements happily catered for.

We are on hand if you need help with administration, translation, bike-related or personal shopping or medical emergencies.
