Skills, with Katy Curd

Skills Coaching Trips with national champion, Katy Curd: 17 to 22 October and 24 to 29 October, 2019. With Sprung Suspension Workshop support.

These trips provide an encouraging, fun environment, in which you'll become a better rider.

Katy Curd is a professional bike racer and skills coach. She is the 2018 British National Downhill Champion and was the 2014 Four Cross World Champion. She has an empathetic and easy-going approach.

Katy will teach you techniques to become a better all-round trail rider (not how to race downhill!). So, if you are an intermediate rider or above, looking to learn new skills and to increase (or restore) your mountain biking confidence, this is the trip for you.

As 2018 guest, David Walker, said:

" Thank you so much for the great mtb rides and wonderful hospitality. We had such a fantastic time. Big shout out too for the amazing Katy Curd, we learned so much from her on the rides and in the coaching sessions.   "

Katy will concentrate on these areas, but your requests are also very welcome:

  • Body position on the bike
  • Cornering
  • Technical terrain
  • Drop-offs
  • Line selection
  • Technical climbs
  • Technical descents
  • Overcoming obstacles
  • Bunnyhops
  • Manuals
  • Style and finesse!

Also on hand will be Jake Ireland, the guru from Sprung Suspension Workshop. He'll give you hands-on help with your suspension set-up, to  make sure you're getting the most out of your bike.

The trip includes five nights' accommodation, with four days' riding.

Each morning, Pure Mountains' guides lead a ride on the awesome trails of the Sierra Nevada, with Land Rover support. The emphasis is on enjoying the riding, not competing to be the fastest up or downhill. In the afternoons, after lunch back at the farmhouse, Katy leads a skills coaching workshop in the grounds.

Each guest will also get a one to one session with Katy during the trip. She will be joining the morning rides too, giving you the chance to pick up tips and ask questions.

2019 Price:  €910 / £795 per person, including rustic-luxe farmhouse accommodation, Land Rover support, full board (except two dinners), beer and wine and Málaga airport transfers.
